Why was the L-Mount chosen?

Compared to conventional mirrorless mounts, L-Mount is a future-proof mount system which has a large diameter, robustness with 4-tab bayonet, and a mount that allows smooth and versatile communication between lenses and cameras. It will be compatible with a wide variety of interchangeable lenses, and even via a mount converter, high-speed and stable communication will be ensured.
