Why are some lenses not supporting linear focus?

With large-diameter lenses, telephoto lenses, macro lenses, and some others, high-precision focusing becomes difficult within the range of angles that can be set arbitrarily with the L-Mount camera body. Also, some lenses are not compatible due to hardware limitations. Therefore it is not compatible with such lenses.
