As a passionate Foveon user for over five years, SIGMA fp was a bit scary at first.
I started my photography and videography career path only a few years ago, but it turned out to be a lot more than just work; it became my passion and way of life.
After spending a few weeks with the world’s smallest full-frame mirrorless camera, the SIGMA fp, I’ve been most impressed by the sheer number of uses.
It is important that a camera faithfully captures beautiful light, but I also expect cameras and photos to capture something unexpected beyond the mere image, something that lies beyond pure perfection.
First of all, it is the versatile scalability concept of the SIGMA fp that fascinates me.
In my artworks, I create concepts based on photographic principles.
When I select gear, I put a lot of value on whether I can feel the camera’s and lenses’ identity and the look of the images they produce rather than purely mathematical criteria like their megapixel count or sharpness profiles.
This has been my first time with a full-frame mirrorless camera like the SIGMA fp. My first thought when I picked it up was: “I feel cool just having it in my hands.”
I have taken the SIGMA fp with me on walks. It was a new experience for me, as I usually don’t have a camera with me on my strolls, only an iPhone, perhaps.
My first impression of the SIGMA fp: “small, light, and beautiful”
